Step-Index Multimode Fiber Optic Patch Cables

200nm to 1200nm (UV-VIS) or 400nm to 2500nm (VIS-IR)

FC-style Connector

 

Description

Our multimode (MM) fiber optic patch cables consist of step-index multimode fiber and have FC/PC connectors with ceramic ferrules on both ends (stainless-steel ferrules option). They are available from stock in 1 m, 2 m, and 5 m lengths. Custom cables are available.

Each patch cable includes two protective caps that shield the ferrule ends from dust and other hazards. Additional Plastic Fiber Caps and Metal Threaded Fiber Caps for FC/PC-terminated ends are sold separately.

 

These cables are not designed for applications that require the fibers to carry high optical powers, as excessive powers can cause the epoxy used in the connectors to experience catastrophic heating. We offer alternate cabling options, in addition to un-connectorized fibers, that are compatible with high optical powers. Please contact us for details.

Description

UV Optimized Silica Fiber’s 0.22 NA step-index multimode fibers feature a pure silica core with a fluorine-doped silica cladding and are available with high hydroxyl ion (OH) concentrations for UV to visible (200nm to 1200nm) applications. Widely used in USA (Ultraviolet Spectrum Analysis) and Beam/Power Delivery.
